TITLE: Manager of Individual Giving
POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Individual Giving (Manager) plays a key role in strengthening uAspire’s individual donor pipeline and overall fundraising capacity. Reporting to and partnering closely with the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Manager will help shape and execute a comprehensive individual giving and events strategy designed to grow the number and value of annual gifts through events, direct mail, online giving, and personal solicitations. The Manager will contribute to a department-wide priority to expand, diversify, and steward our individual donor base, ensuring a more balanced funding mix and long-term organizational sustainability.

The Manager must be a strategic thinker who understands donor motivations, exercises strong judgment in prioritizing actions that drive outcomes, and communicates uAspire’s mission with clarity, passion, and confidence to a range of external audiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Management of Individual Donors and Prospect Pipeline (30%)
- Collaborate with the CDO to develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and motivate existing and new individual donors
- Conduct prospect research and create tailored stewardship plans and pitches
- Prioritize key actions for uAspires staff and leadership to take in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts, including major gifts, and preparing /supporting them to execute
- Work with CDO to leverage Board and donor relationships to steward existing donors and cultivate new prospects
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned by the CDO
Event Implementation and Execution (30%)
- Assist CDO with planning and implementing in-person events and digital campaigns (Giving Tuesday, Annual Appeal, etc.) throughout the year. Travel may be required.
- Produce and manage a calendar of all events and campaigns and work with internal staff, including but not limited to the marketing and communications team, to support event planning and the timely disbursement of invitations and promotional materials
- Create and manage event timelines, guest lists, run of shows, and post-event follow up
- Manage vendors, venues, contracts and related logistics
- Maintain uAspire's donor database system(s) and online donation platforms for effective tracking of event attendees and giving
Data Management and Analytics (40%)
- Oversee and continually improve all aspects of gift processing, including acknowledgment letters, pledge tracking, and revenue reporting, ensuring timely and accurate donor stewardship
- Keep accurate Salesforce records and updated activity notes with all donors
- Analyze historical and market data to support setting ambitious yet feasible revenue, donor quantity, and retention goals
- Regularly track progress to goal and conduct analysis to identify what is driving and impeding progress

Education, Experience & Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree
- At least five years of professional experience, preferably in development or fundraising working with individual donors, live events, online campaigns, and/or annual funds
- High degree of familiarity and comfort creating reports and working with spreadsheets and analyzing donor giving trends
- Experience working with Salesforce or a comparable CRM system; familiarity with online giving platforms including GiveSmart or GoFundMePro
- Comfort working with high net worth and high profile donors and prospects
- Experience with AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication and event planning skills
- Ability to prioritize, manage several projects at once and work well under deadlines
- A passion for and commitment to educational equity

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $70,450 - $75,400
GRADE: III
STATUS: Exempt, full time
CLASSIFICATION: Hybrid (combination of remote work and in-person presence for events, meetings, and organizational needs)
